Show Summary

This easygoing series about six good-looking
twenty-somethings in New York City simply hanging out
and having a good time hit the spot with viewers in the
stressed-out nineties. Monica was the unofficial den
mother, a gorgeous young woman who just couldn't seem
to find Mr. Right. She worked as an assistant chef but
seemed to spend most of her time with the gang. Rachel,
her best friend since high school, had dumped her fiance
at the altar (along with Daddy's credit cards) and was
now trying to make it on her own, starting as a waitress
at the gang's hangout, Central Perk. Ross was Monica's
goofy brother, whose pregnant wife had left him when she
decided she was a lesbian; Joey the cute Italian guy who
lived across the hall; Chandler, Joey's roommate and the
group's resident clown; and Phoebe a ditsy, waiflike
friend who was into New Age "auras." They all hung out
at Monica's apartment and talked about love, sex,
feelings, dates, lack of dates, prospects of dates,
and other matters of importance in their lives.
